Tonometry

By May 16, 2011

Our clinic is equipped to perform a vital test for your pet’s eye health called Tonometry. Tonometry detects early changes in pressure which can lead to discomfort and even vision loss. Glaucoma, or abnormally high pressure within the eye, can develop suddenly and become critical within hours. With Tonometry, we can quickly and painlessly assess your pet and start vision-saving treatment.

Please bring your pet immediately for an examination if you notice the following changes in either eye: enlarged pupil, cloudiness, redness or a “bloodshot” appearance, one eye appearing larger than the other, squinting,┬áincreased tear production, or pawing/rubbing of the eye. Since glaucoma can rob a pet’s vision within hours, it is important to take action as soon as you notice any of these changes!
